London based poet, broadcaster & performer and the lead singer & lyricist for underground ska-punk-break-beatcha-wife duo SaltPeter with Peter Coyte. She featured on the two most recent Coldcut albums Let us Play and Let us Replay <Ninja Tune>

Simple Kid's acclaimed debut album featured a track titled Supertramps And Superstars containing the lyrics Salena Saliva, eyes like a tiger. Saliva heard it, hunted him down and they performed duets together in London in January 2004, followed by a show in his hometown of Cork.

Although still very much featured & published in small presses & underground magazines including Full Moon Empty Sports Bag & Rising, Godden was most recently published in Penguin's IC3 & Serpents Tail's Oral and the Tell Tales short stories anthologies. The Tell Tales national tour is currently running until December 2004 www.telltales.co.uk for details.

Saliva has taken her work globally and fearlessly from Australia's outback to the resistance fighters in war-torn East Timor. In 2001 she completed a solo 4-month spoken word tour across the USA. In this time she held poetry workshops in Harlem with homeless kids & wrote a weekly diary column for bt-getoutthere.com. She was stranded in New York during the September 11th tragedy & this writing was published in The Big Issue.

On her return to the UK, November 2001, she toured nationally supporting Indie-band Gene to promote the album 'Libertine' with a series of live multi-media shows featuring writers such as Irvine Welsh and Jock Scot.

At the hugely successful Fak Literature Festival in Zagreb, Croatia she had the opportunity to perform with writers from Serbia, Croatia & Bosnia. She is included in an anthology of short stories to be translated/published there & in the UK by Serpents Tail in early 2005.

1999 saw the release of the first Godden/Coyte (formerly Salena Saliva and the PC Collective) album entitled Egg Yolk Planet Fried released on Saltpetre Records.

Also in 1999 they created & produced Saltpetre Radio, a unique poetry concept show for CD & radio. They produced/hosted regular slots on SBN & BBC LDN. To continue to platform & document the thriving global spoken word scene, to support & promote lyrically inspired music & musically inspired lyrics, Saltpetre Radio now has a regular weekly slot on Britain's First Independent Art Radio Station. RESONANCE 104.4 FM every Wednesday 11.30pm-1am. www.resonancefm.com

In summer 2003, Saliva collaborated and featured on BBC Radio 4's new spoken word series Bespoken Word. This series was nominated for a Sony Award 2004. The second Bespoken Word series will feature and be co-presented by Godden. Following in the footsteps of Andrew Motion, she was also commissioned in 2003, to write for Radio 4's 'Word of Mouth' series, presented by Michael Horovitz.

Godden co-presented Channel 4's weekly late night discussion series HEAVY TV in 2003. She has just completed a commission to write and present a documentary
Seaside On The Rocks for Channel 4's MADE IN BRITAIN series.
